The Artisans Village

The Artisans Village, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was created in 2015 to advance the visual arts to strengthen the economy and enhance the quality of life in Lake Country. Our vision is to create a vibrant arts community strategically designed to bring art lovers and artisans of various disciplines together in one location where artisans demonstrate their skills, create works, network, and market their creations. The Artisans Village is comprised of three main pillars under the overarching umbrella of The Artisans Village non-profit organization.

GALLERY – The Artisans Village Art Gallery has been operational since April 2017. This amazing gallery, featuring mainly local artists of incredible talent, is located across from the courthouse in downtown Eatonton.  You’ll find a wide variety of mediums and one-of-a-kind pieces of original artwork as well as reasonably priced gift items like wood carvings, pottery, jewelry, glassware, notecards, fabric art, baskets, candles, decorative gourds, and more.  From the practical and useful to the decorative and whimsical or all of the above. Items for you, your home, your family, and your friends.  Shop local and support the arts!   HOURS: Wednesday – Friday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

GUILD – The Artisans Village Guild is a group of over 100 artists from the Lake Country and beyond who meet on a regular basis. Joining the Guild provides many different ways to get involved with the arts, sell/display artwork, grow and share skills and techniques, and connect with like-minded art enthusiasts.  Visit our website for more information and an online application.

STUDIO – A few years ago The Artisans Village acquired a wonderful turn-of-the-century Livery stable building in downtown Eatonton. Work is almost complete on the renovation so that it can be used as artist studios with live demonstrations.  This will provide space for artisans who work in the hot arts and high-noise arts such as metalworkers, glass blowers, pottery, chainsaw carvers, and, just as it did more than a hundred years ago – blacksmiths.
